![]() We enjoyed our short visit and thought it was well worth the time and money. They'll include an airboat ride and some sort of demonstration with alligators. There are several places along 41 where you can pay somewhere around $20 per person with a coupon for admission. I didn’t participate because that’s not right.Īnswer: My husband and I had a short time to see a bit of the Everglades on our way from the keys to Miami airport last month. Who does that? The last driver said it was a mandatory 5.00 tip per person. They watch you as you’re getting off the bus with their tip basket saying you need to tip. Like I saw them stop mainly the men telling them to tip like they were holding up the line didn’t want to let them off the bus unless they tipped. So wear your mask and be prepared to breathe through your mouth.īeware all of the bus drivers hound you for tips. Then we saw the caged/rescue gators and it was interesting. We saw about 4 alligators in their natural habitat and they swam close to the boat so we got great pics. The Everglades tour was nothing short of amazing. We got there at 2:05 and the boat tour guide said we had until 2:15 so I was so confused. The tour bus guide was rushing us talking about he was supposed to leave at 2. Once that was done we had about 10 mins to run to the drop off area on the other side of the bay so we wouldn’t miss the bus for the Everglades tour. The boat is small and cramped so all of us were literally on top of each other in this Covid world that we are living in. The boat tour was okay, kinda long for what it was. We ended up getting over priced 5 guys and by the time our food was ready we had to grab and run to the boat. The food choices aren’t many and are crowded restaurants. Then they drop us off at the bay for lunch but you only get 30mins to grab food before you have to be at the boat. When we got off the bus we only stopped at gift shops, not really any city highlights. To me it just wasn’t worth it.įor the city we only toured Little Havana, I was expecting more. It was Dan’s birthday weekend and he stated that he planned to eat a lot since he was on a diet… we hope you ate well, Dan! Thank you for the memories!! What a nice trip this was! He even offered the group a pair of cheetah print crocs that were found in the Everglades- we don’t know what happened to the person who once owned them.īefore leaving we asked Dan if he suggested any local beaches- he did. Dan was highly personable- very fun to be around. The crab was gently placed back afterwards into the water. He stopped often to point out some interesting animals and made the tour even more fun by giving the dolphins some waves to jump on! As we went out to the Gulf shoreline, he even pulled over and grabbed a horseshoe crab and gave us a lesson on it. He was very knowledgeable on the animals, plants, and Everglades in general. The tour guide- Dan- met us at the location and took us to the departure point. We were a little unsure about what we were getting into when we arrived at the meet address- the address is a small building with a deli inside (run by a wonderful couple by the way) but things worked out well. We went to Florida for a short trip and decided we wanted to do an Everglades boat tour.
